Lip Spoiler Installation

PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY PRIOR TO INSTALLATION

Important Note:  Please inspect your spoiler for proper fit before painting or mounting.  Parts which have been sanded, painted, drilled, or modified cannot be returned.

No-Drill Application STEP-by-STEP

1.

Surface Cleaning

Clean surface area that is to be covered by the spoiler thoroughly with Isopropyl Alcohol or lighter fuel (available at a convenience store or supermarket) (See Illustration 1).

2.

Test Fitting

Before removing the tape backing, test fit the spoiler in order to get comfortable with the placement.  You can mark the position with a grease-free pen or masking tape for a perfect fit (See Illustration 2).

3.

Preparation

Peel back the corner of the red liner on the 3M tape and remove ALL pieces.  Avoid touching the exposed tape (See Illustration 6).

4.

Installation

Gently press the spoiler into place on the decklid, hatch or glass.  Once satisfied with the placement, firmly press down on the spoiler to ensure cohesion along the entire vehicle's surface.  Continue to apply pressure or use masking tape to keep unit from lifting.  (See Illustrations 8 & 9).

Helpful Tips

Adhesive silicones and/or adhesion promoters are often used in conjunction with the provided 3M tape for long lasting durability.  For best results, installation should be conducted in temperatures above 72.  Refer to tape manufacturer's recommendations for full details.  Do not clean, wash, wax or drive for 12 hours after installation.  The manufacturer is not responsible for no-drill attachment durability.

Drill Application STEP-by-STEP

Hardware Kit

Supplied in the box are one spoiler & a plastic bag containing the following:

1. Set of screws
2. Set of locator strips

Installation

1. Clean surface are that is to be covered by spoiler thoroughly with Isopropyl Alcohol or lighter fuel (available at convenience stores or supermarkets) (See Illustration 1).
2. Before removing the tape back, test fit the spoiler in order to get comfortable with the placement.  You can mark the position with a grease-free pen or masking tape for a perfect fit (See Illustration 2).
3. Insert the locator strips into the mounting holes.  A small piece of masking tape will hold them temporarily in place (See Illustration 3 & Illustration 4).
4. Set the spoiler in the position you feel looks best.  You may want to use a measuring tape to insure you do have it centered from side to side and an equal distance on each side from the back edge of the decklid.
5. Tape the locator strips to the trunk lid on both sides of the spoiler.  Carefully lift the spoiler off the trunk lid leaving the locator strips taped to the decklid (See Illustration 4).
6. Drill through the center of the locator strip (See Illustration 5).
7. Peel back the corner of the red liner on the 3M tape.  Avoid touching the exposed tape (See Illustration 6).
8. Tighten the screws lightly to a depth of about 1/8" (about 2 screwdriver turns), peel the tape protecting the liner completely and press the spoiler gently onto the trunk lid.
9. Tight the screws firmly.
